About us
The Albury Wodonga Artists Society (AWAS) is an incorporated society which was formed in 1987. AWAS is an enthusiastic and friendly society of about 80 members, constantly on the look out for new ideas and offering a variety of tutoring in all mediums.
The aim of the society is to encourage members’ artistic talents, and share companionship and experience in a common endeavour. An extensive range of activities are available to members, including a variety of demonstrations, workshops, classes and field trips. Guest tutors (both local and national) are sourced to provide members with valuable learning experiences.
Location
We are conveniently located in the Arts Precinct on the Lincoln Causeway, between Albury and Wodonga, and our modern studio offers convenient facilities to all members. Our studio facilities are open for use to all members, and the studio is open to the public Tuesday to Sunday 10am -4pm . Members man the studio by roster. A wide variety of art work on display at the studio is for sale.
Exhibitions
Exhibitions are held throughout the year, both within our studio facilities, as well as at our gallery location at the Wodonga Plant Farm Gallery Cafe. All members are encouraged to submit items for our exhibitions, many of which are specifically themed.
In addition, trips further afield are often organised to visit major art exhibitions in other locations.
